What is the best chess strategy?

As the other people have say,yes it is good to take control of the center. But what I suggest for begginers to normally do after that is eliminate all the opponent's major pieces (bishops, kinghts, rooks and the queen) and just keep your queen and rooks alive, only use them when there is one sure prey and make sure that the prey you just saw is NOT actually a bait to the opponent's trap. The reason to keep those pieces of yours alive is that you can use them to easily checkmate the opponent after you eliminate his major pieces for example:(the opponent's king is on D-8,put you queen on H-7,your first rook on H-6 and your last rook on H-8).now you probably know it by now
