Are heavy painful periods normal after clomid?

I started my period today after a failed cycle of clomid. Yesterday I started having cramps so bad in my stomach back ovaries and even my legs. I never felt such bad cramping in my life. Today my period started and it's super heavy. Normally my periods are on the lighter side. Can't remember the last time I even had a heavy period. The pain is so unbearable. When will it go away? Is this normal or is there something wrong?
