What is it like getting your belly button pireced?

Im considering getting my belly button pierced. I work at a summer camp so im in lakes and pools all the time, would that affect anything? Also can you take them out? If so how long do you have to wait and can you switch belly button rings yourself? How easily do they get infected and how do you clean them? How long does it take the skin to heal. And im not a lover of pain, so is it really painful? And if so how long does that last? I want to know anything and everything about getting your belly button pierced. Thanks :)
