Wakeboarding helmets?

I'm not some crazy wakeboarder who can do crazy stuff. but i'm alright. i can clear the wake and i almost have my 360 down. The thing is when i fall it's pretty painful and i get the bad headache which makes me not want to wakeboard anymore. I was wondering if those wakeboard helmets actually work and if they make your fall less painful to your faceplants? Thanks!
