My boyf has phimosis?

And I want some tips on how I can pursuede him to get it sorted. He (like most other men) doesn't like going to the dr and is terrified that he'll have to be circumcised. I've explained to him that they'll probably recommend stretches and steroid creams to try before surgery but he just keeps finding excuses not to go and get advice. I don't want to put too much hefty pressure on him but I really crave physical intimacy with him and the phimosis means he finds alot of things painful and thus we don't engage in them. Anybody out there have/ has had phimosis and it's been fixed non-surgically??
