Girl avoiding me? Advice from boys or girls?

Hi. I really like this girl. We've been playing chess together on chess with friends on our iPods!!! If she got the hint that I like her, will she avoid me a little?? Do girls typically not talk to people too much so they don't make them think that they like them??? Thanks!!! ;).
